You’re watching the new News 6 Investigators promotional video (watch it at the top of this story).

In honor of Halloween, the team went retro and had a lot of fun doing it.

“I grew up watching TV shows from that era – at least reruns – and I wonder if these serious actors felt as ridiculous as we are!” said Mike DeForest. “After months of covering tough stories, like the pandemic, working from home or remotely, it was great to get together again with all of my great coworkers to do something fun and wacky.”

In the promotional shoot, investigators went back to help get results.

Pulling on trench coats, jumpsuits, clingy suits, big hair and more, the team couldn’t have been more in character.

“I saw what everyone was going to wear, and I was like, ‘What?’ ”Said Erik Sandoval. “I remember watching people on TV wearing these clothes when I was a kid. This is going to be a lot of fun! I think I ran a full 5K during my sprint down the lane for my part because we had to do so many takes.

“It sounded like a new version of ‘Back to the Future’ on 70s television,” added Mike Holfeld. “Everyone fell into character and we had a blast doing our best for the production team. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as we enjoyed shooting it. “

As you can see, investigators took a break to cover some serious topics and had some fun on camera.

“As investigative journalists we don’t always get the chance to show our fun side on camera, so it was a treat. And who doesn’t love a white leisure suit? said Louis Bolden.

Merris Badcock added: “It was a fun team bonding experience. We were able to show another side of our personality since we generally conduct serious investigations. We take what we do very seriously, but it’s nice to be able to have fun every now and then.
