For the editor:

A recent op-ed seems to indicate that only Republican and conservative media are providing misinformation. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

Let me start by saying that you shouldn’t confuse opinion shows with news. They are for entertainment purposes only and should be treated as such. Both conservatives and liberals have many outrageous views that distort their view of current events to suit their far right and far left agendas.

Let’s specifically discuss mainstream news media such as CBS, NBC, ABC, and CNN. Over the past six years there have been concerted efforts to spread misinformation and suppress true stories that do not match their narrative. There are far too many examples for me to name them all and go into detail, but I will name just a few.

The best example is the story of the Hunter Biden laptop. This story has now been proven to be true, but has been suppressed by the mainstream media and branded as Russian disinformation. Twitter and Facebook have banned any reference to this story. If all the facts about this story had been reported by the mainstream media, chances are the 2020 presidential election would have had a different outcome.

During Trump’s presidency, mainstream media stories about Trump were 95% negative and only 5% positive. Talk about manipulation. The mainstream media has waged a relentless disinformation campaign claiming that Trump is colluding with Russia. How many are aware of Joe Biden and Hunter Biden’s profitable deals with Russia, China and Ukraine? These stories have all been deleted.

Then there is the misrepresentation of the election laws put in place in Georgia. The media would have you believe these laws are racist, but they are more liberal than the election laws in many Democratic-run states. What about crisis coverage on the southern border? or should I say not covered/removed.

I must also mention the totally unfair treatment given to Nick Sandmann and Kyle Rittenhouse. Many readers will still not understand the reality of liberal bias and manipulation in the mainstream media.

For these people, Mark Twain said it best. “It is easier to deceive people than to convince them that they have been duped.” As for outspoken far-right conservative Republican politicians, they all have their equals on the other side of the political spectrum. The old adage is true: “In a democracy, the people get the government they deserve.”
